Why Is Chest X-ray Ordered In Case Of Stage 4 Colon Cancer?
My husband was diagnoised with stage 4 colon cancer spread to his liver. He has been off chemo for a month now....still in pain, sweats, is stumbling. They are doing a CT scan and chest xray this week. I hate seeing him suffer....while on Chemo he was doing ok. they have neve done a chest xray...does this mean they are seeing if it has gone into his lungs. He is 58, he was diagnoised Nov. 2010 given 9-24 months.
Since your husband is suffering from stage 4 colon cancer it is very important to see whether it has spread to lungs as commonest site of metastasis is to lungs in case of colon cancer. If disease has progressed in to lungs then second line palliative chemotherapy has to be planned. Regards DR De
