Why Is Foetal Pole Not Visible?

Hi, my last Lmp was on Jan 14 and I had a fever on 5th feb. Doctor gave me oflacin 200 mg for 5 days morning and night. I started taking tablet on 5th eve 6th morning and eve and on 7th morning. 7th evening I had a spotting. When I consulted doctor she asked to do serum pregnancy test and it turned positive. I stopped taking antibiotics after tht. the spotting used to come on some days after tht. I am taking vifolin 5mg and duphaston 10mg. Beta hcg was 10770 and turned to 18900 after 48 hrs.vaginal scanning was done. There is intra uterine gestational sac but no foetal pole. Doctor said with this level of beta hcg it is supposed to see the foetal pole and asked to do a rescan. My question is why foetal pole is not visible? Is there a chance of seeing it? How long should I wait to confirm it. Is there any side effect of oflacin tablet? Y this spotting happening ? Will I be able to have a normal pregnancy? Expectig a positive reply soon. Regards, Reshmi

Pediatrician 's  Response
thanks for the question. as per your lmp you have just completed 3-4 weeks of pregnancy by 7 th feb.hence only gestational sac was visible then. by 8 weeks next sono is required where you can see heart beat an fetal pole. which should have been done by 14- 15 th march. if you havent done then kindly get it done now. else directly at 13 weeks as level 1 scan. and many ladies get bleeding as spots . but you are already in duphastrom . so no need to worry. just take adequate rest and avoid exhurstion. no need to worry just plan your sonography. meet your doctor as you need to start iron and calcium. also tetanus injections.
