Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dpt booster can be given anytime between 4 1/2 years to 5 1/2 hours . The pain he is experiencing is due to mild inflammation to the vaccination.
Kindly look for any swelling at the site of injection

local hot water fomentation will be helpful.
Analgesic like Ibuprofen will be helpful

take care
