Why Is My Head Hurting And Body Sore?

I ve been exhausted all day and have no energy. I have the chills and i m shaking even though my room is 74 degrees and i m wearing sweats. It hurts to swallow and my glands feel sore. I hit my head last night and have a bruise there as well. My head hurts and my body is sore.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM!

Primarily, it appears to me that you are suffering from a respiratory tract infection. It is common during this time of the year due to the weather.

If I were your treating doctor, I'd suggest you to have a course of antibiotics. ALso, antipyretic like Paracetamol and analgesic will give symptomatic relief.

Since you are also complaining of chills, I'd suggest you to do a malaria and dengue test.

The injury to your head seems unrelated to your symptoms. Painkillers, as suggested above, will help you with this pain also.

Warm saline gargles will decrease the throat pain. (3-4 times/day)

Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.

Wish you good health.
With regards,
Dr. Sridhar
