Why Is My Heart Beating Strangely And Causing Discomfort?

My heart feels as though it's beating strangely lately. It doesn't hurt but is uncomfortable and makes me feel weird. I'm 60 and take no medications other than (estradiol) not sure of the spelling. I just quit smoking last month and I'm healthy and have about 20 lbs to shed

hello and welcome
I will explain your symptoms as far as I can. do you have hypertension or diabetes? these symptoms of heart beating are due to irregular cardiac rhythm. the commonest of which is premature contractions either ventricular or atrial. but since you are 60 years old there is also a possibility of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. you should get an EKG. visit your doctor to get done an echocardiography
any further queries I will be happy to answer
