Why Is My Mom Insisting On Not Getting Tampons ?

why is my mom insisting on not getting tampons she says that pads are better for your health and that tampons may cause harm to my skin or something and that i am too young for that(im 14)can someone tell me if they really do cause any trouble.?? is it true they can make you loose your virginity...thats a wrong theory right???

I think your mom just doesn't want you to grow up, to some moms tampons signal a sign of maturity, my mom didn't allow us to use tampons for that reason, we had to buy them on the sneaks! lol They can cause some harm if you don't use them right, you've read all these other answers explaining TSS and infections and all, but I think the main thing mom just want you to stay her little girl for as long as possible. Let her know that just because you want to use tampons doesn't mean you're going to go out find a boyfriend/husband and start having kids or anything! lol It sounds stupid but some moms really do worry like that.
