Why Is Spine Fracture Visible In X-ray And Not Seen In CT Scan?
Hi yes I was in an accident 3 days ago and had to go to hospital, were they gave me an xray on the othepedic Dr said I had a fracture in my lower spine, but then sent me for a ct scan for my neck as I ve got severe whiplash and they said no fracture in my spine.so I m slightly confused as it showed up on the xray! Thanks
If the CT scan only took a look at the neck and not the lower spine, then they may have missed the fracture.
If your entire spine was imaged with the CT and they did not see the fracture in the spine then you need to have both sets of images reviewed by a radiologist and orthopedic doctor to determine if you do in fact , have a fracture.
I hope this helps
