Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have fibromyalgia and fell in the bath tub last September on my left side. I had an x-ray done of my ribs which came back negative for fracture. I didn t bruise in this area just on my hip. Since then that side of my ribs is sore most of the time. I m wondering if the fibromyalgia has something to do with it?

In my opinion you did the x ray scan as soon an the incident occured BUT a crack in your bone does not show clearly unless x ray is done 1 week after the injury it is vert hard to recognise in the initial x ray so i suggest redoing an x ray especially if pain increase during bed rest or movement and goes away in sitting or standing
if that is not the case then youn can suspect fibromyalgia
Good Luck
