Why There Is An Additional Procedure Needed For Mole Removal?
I am 36 year old female. I went to the dermatologist and they removed two moles. I received a call that one mole was fine and one was atypical and I needed to come in for additional removal. I am wondering about the conservative excision for the atypical mole. The doctor did a shave biopsy and I received results that the mole was atypical and a conservative extraction or excision (i am not sure) was recommended. The procedure is not schedule for about 4 weeks post the shave biopsy. I have two questions. Is it typical to wait this long for the second procedure? Is it possible that the second procedure will produce results of melanoma?
