Why There Is Water Mixed Blood Discharge In Pregnancy?

Hi!! I had a water mixed blood discharge a week back n was hospitalized for 3 days. My doctor has diagnosed posteriorly attached low lying placenta. I am really worried, though the bleeding has completely stopped. I am 14 weeks pregnant what are the risk????

Hi,
Thanks for consulting us.
We call this threatened miscarriage. Low lying placenta may be a cause. Most of the time this placenta moves up with passing days.
If the heart beat is present & there is no evidence of sac rupture prognosis for this pregnancy is generally good.
If (in rare cases) placenta stays low then there is a risk of bleeding during pregnancy, cesarean may be required & all the related maternal & fetal risks complications may occur.
