Will Proscar Cause High Blood Pressure And Developing Water On The Knees?
My husband has been taking Proscar for the last 4 months for prostrate issues. He has developed water on the knee and his blood pressure has gone up to 150/70. It usually is 130/65 and he is not peeing much any more. He says he is just not feeling like himself. I think he is scared about a stroke. He is 62 and 6 1 and weighs about 170. I can not get him to go to a doctor. He does have an appt. for the prostrate mid May. Could the proscar be causing these issues? Should he continue to take?
Hello.Finasteride is a medication with anti-androgenic effect: increase breast size, decreased sexual desire or sometimes erectile dysfunction are common side effects of finasteride but high blood pressure and developing water on the knees are not common side effects of finasteride. Your doctor should consider other causes of the symptoms that you refer.I wish you good health. (If the answer has helped you, please indicate this)
