Will A Petogen Injection Possibly Stop Continuous Bleeding?

Hi. I started nur isterate August 2015. I was changed to petogen in December 2015 because I complained about continuous bleeding. This only made things worse and I am still bleeding. Is it possible to stop the bleeding by going on the pill now or do I have to first wait for the petogen to wear-off before before changing. Is it safe to have both in my system. If the pill can help which should I go on?

Warm Welcome. I appreciate your trust in HCM and assure you are on best portal on the globe for expert online medical services.

I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

Although Petogen depo shot is effective for patients with heavy periods, it can take a while to show its effect. It will improve with less or no periods at all in coming months. Till then, there are few ways to control your current periods.

If I were your treating physician, I would advise you:

• Instead of combined pill, take Tab. Premarin (estrogen only pill) once daily for 7 days. It will help in blood clotting and improve vascular supply to uterine lining.
• Cap. Tranexamic acid 500mg three times daily for 3-4 days. It will actively stop bleeding.
• Tab. Ponstan (mefenamic acid) for 3-4 days. It is also help in stopping heavy bleeding.
Iron supplements for compensation of blood loss.

You may consult your gynaecologist about what to do if you experience heavy bleeding again in future.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts. Keep a follow up to see how you doing.

Regards!
