Will A Child With Developmental Delay Have A Normal Growth And Life?
my child name Naman born with developmental delay with the weight of 1.4 kg and he was kept in nursery for 3-4 days. he can not walk on his own, can't speak even a word and can't sit or walk. He is now 4.5 years old, he is also suffering from seizure also and he has been taking medicine of seizure namely syrup valparin, syr. levilex, lamitor, tab. clonaride. I want to know whether my child can be a normal child or he can't be cured.
Hi, Thanks for asking. I can understand your concerns. When such a question is asked by a parent in my office I usually advise them not to aim for normal life but to aim for as much independent life for child as possible. By normal if you are asking like other children, he may not be normal. But he may be able to walk with support like wheel chair or other aides. He may be able to communicate with help of speech therapy or augmentative communication systems. He may be able to attend school with special support. I hope I have helped you. Thank you.
