Will Adding Add Lipitor To My Current Medicine Have And Effect On Cholesterol?

My cholesterol test from a recent physical was 119 with LDL @ 56. Past tests have also shown low numbers for total. I did have a small MI about 13 years ago. I have been taking atenolol, lisinopril since. It was suggested I mght add Lipitor -- would this be of benefit?

Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
I am glad to know that your cholesterol and LDL are under normal limits.Taking Atorvastatin wil have beneficial effects on your blood vessel though they mignt not be needed since your cholesterols are normal.I would add Atorvastatin since you had a previous episode of Myocardial Infarction so that the chance of repeat MI is reduced.Hope this helps and answers your query.
