Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 7 month old daughter was diagnosed with VUR about a month ago, and is now on a low dose of generic bactrim every day for the next year. last night i noticed what i know to be thrush, white splotches inside her cheeks, and im worried the bactrim would be causing this. is there anything i can do to get rid of the thrush or with the antibiotics make it keep coming back?b
Oral thrush can be caused by long term antibiotics. I would advise you to use Miconazole oral gel or Nystatin lotion for a long time to get rid of thrush.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
