Will Being Diagnosed With Heart Murmur And Prolonged QT Interval Limit Physical Activities In An Adolescent?

my 14 yr old daughter has been diagnosed with a heart murmur and a prolonged QT interval. she recently passed out during PE class and cpr was adminstered she that is how we learned of her heart problem. i also have a prolonge QT. will she be able to be in sports again

I read your query very carefully.

The prolonged QT syndrome is associated with major ventricular arrhythmia and sudden death, this is why the sport especially competitive sports isn't indicated for your daughter.

I recommend a full cardiac examination including Electrophysiologic study to decide the best treating option for her.
