Will Benefiber Taken With Nifedical Cause Any Side Effects?

I was told by my doctor to use benefiber for constipation.I am using nifedical for high blood pressure that works very well. Will Benefiber cause any side effects? I am 84yrs old now & intend on living a few more yrs. Please advise Sincerely, Ken L

Hi and thanks for asking to HCM forum. Benefiber contains wheat dextrin, a natural soluble fiber, Benefiber contains a 100% natural fiber. It's taste-free, sugar-free. The American Dietetic Association recommends that Americans get 20-35 grams of fiber a day from plant foods, including both soluble and insoluble fiber. Nifedical which contains Nifedipine is used alone or in combination with other drugs to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). As such their are no drug interactions between these two, but it is better if u dont take these medications at the same time. I hope i answered your query. Live long and happy life. All the best.
