Will Bump On Chin After Injury Go Away With Time?

Hi there,

My name is Julie and I fell on my chin and bruised the right side of it a bit however I now have a small bump on the bottom right side of my chin, I did get an xray however they didn't see any broken bones so is that little bump going to go away in time?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for bump on chin after injury on the chin area.

It is quite common to find such kind of bump after injury to any local area on skin due to inflammation and fluid collection. The most important thing is to not to even touch or pinch the area as can cause more aggravation of the problem and spread of the infection. You can apply antibiotic cream such as fucidin or mupirocin and take pain killer tablets such diclofenac or paracetamol.

The bump may remain for 5-7 days and then i will subside by its own. Sometimes there is formation of bruise over the same due to blood collection. SO do not worry about the bruise also as this also subsides by its own.

All the best and take care.
