Will Chantix Change Chemically With Time?

I have a full rx of chantix, unopened. I paid $130.00 for it and now, finally, I really want to quit. Is it still effective and chemically unchanged by its age? It has been properly stored in regards to temperature. Email address is YYYY@YYYY . thank you for your response.

Hi,

Its efficacy may decrease slightly. Most medicines stored under reasonable conditions retain at least 70% to 80% of their original potency for at least 1 to 2 years after the expiration date, even after the container has been opened.

So, it may still be taken along with behavior modification and counseling support to quit smoking.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician and Fetal Medicine
