Will Claritin D And Flonase Spray Cure Nasal Discharge And Headache?

I ve had trouble for 2 weeks now with my sinuses. Went to my regular Dr, he said to just continue using clariten D and flonase spray. But my nasal discharge is yellowish and getting darker, more headache and over all feeling terrible. Have history of sinus trouble. Last year my dr ordered antibiotics 4 times, now he just wants me to use what i said above. But i m getting worse. I called him back today and says if your that bad see an ENT specilist, i called around the soonest i can get into one is 5 weeks. What can i do?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
You are suffering from many months, the last attack being 2 weeks ago for which you have been given Claritin D and Flonase nasal spray.
Since you are having yellow discharge, more headache this is suggestive of having infective pathology going on in spite of 4 courses of an antibiotic last year.

I would suggest you hte following till you get an ENT appointment.
- Continue Claritin-d, and Xylometazolin nasal spray or drops. Stop Flonase as it is steroid.
You have to request your Doctors the following:
Get a CT scan of the sinuses.
start on a broad spectrum antibiotic,
Anti-inflammatory
Oral decongestant.
Take bed rest and steam inhalations.
You will be fine.
By the time you get an ENT Opinion, you shall be ready for additional medical management or surgical interventions as may be needed .
