Will Discontinuing Antibiotics For Chest Infection Pose Any Danger?

Hi I am prescribed Zinnat (2 times daily) and Zithromax (250mg) once daily for a suspected chest infection. I have been coughing for 3 weeks with whitish phlegm and wheezing noise in my chest. I started the antibiotics 3 days ago. I was surprised to see that my blood pressure which is normal usually, increased to 170/70 yesterday and 164/84 today. I get slight headaches and feel rather tired. After 3 days my cough is under control and getting better. 1. Shall I discontinue the antibiotics? One or both? 2. Will the increased blood pressure pose any danger like stroke ?3. What should I do?

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your drug related pregnancy issue.

Both these drugs Zithromax and ceforoxime falls in category B of pregnancy related drugs. That means there is no issues found in humans but animals have been found affected by it.

You must avoid these antibiotics and opt for category A drugs in early pregnancy. If you take them for. Short duration of time there is no problem but you must avoid both of them for more than a week.
