Will Discontinuing Olimet Being Taken For Schizophrenia Increase Chances Of Relapse?
Hello Doctor , My brother is suffering from Schizophrenia and is being treated from past 3 years for the same. Currently he was taking olimelt 1 tablet in the night . But from couple of days he has stopped taking medicines and says that he is absolutely fine. His health is good and he is working in an MNC from past 1 year. He is doing good in that and he is as normal as any other person. But now we are worried as he has stopped taking the medication. Can you please help me to know if there are are chances that the disease may relapse ?? Please

Schizophrenia is disease which requires many years of tratment and if drugs are stopped there is fair chance of relapse.In my
opinion he shoud be put back on drug in consultation with your psychiatrist
