Will Heavy Bleeding Affect The Menstrual Cycle?

I am 46 yrs old. Last month I had heavy bleeding, so my dr. suggested trapic 500 for 5 days. Gradually the bleeding reduced and stopped. My PUS & THY everything is normal. My question is after this whether the menstrual cycle becomes regular or abnormal?
