Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When you have a hernia repaired does it hurt much at the spot where it was fixed or just where they cut you? I am having one fixed when I have my c-section so the incision is no where near where the hernia. I am fine with the c-section since it is down low, but I was wondering if I will be sore above my bellybutton where the hernia is actually located. I am going to breastfeed again and was wondering if I was going to have much pain since that is where you hold the baby across you. I meant will it hurt where you get cut (which would be good) or where the hernia is (which would be harder). I will not be taking any pain meds. I did not need them after my first c-section and that is major abdominal surgery because I was fine. I was just wanted a heads up if that little spot where the hernia actually is will hurt. Not the incision because I expect that to and that is no where near the hernia anyway.
You will be sore mostly where the incision is made but you will be given pain medication and they work rather well. If your surgery is anything like mine your pain will be more of a dull ache then a throbbing pain
