Will Light Bleeding Due To Intercourse During Pregnancy Is Of Major Concern ?
Hi I'm between 6 and 8 weeks pregnant and have been having some concerning hcg levels according to my ob, I'm high risk. But everything I find says my levels are fine? I had intercourse earlier today and passed a very very small stringy blood clot.. Should I be freaking out?!
Hello Thanks for writing to us with your health concern. PLease post your HCG levels with the dates at - http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-aarti-abraham/64623 That would enable me to make a diagnosis. Also, if you are at high risk, then any kind of bleeding or passage of clot can herald an impending miscarriage. In early pregnancy, when you are projected as high risk, please try and avoid sexual intercourse as far as possible. You should see your doctor and report the spotting / clotting. AN ultrasound scan should ideally be done to document cardiac activity. IF the baby's heartbeat is present, need not worry. Take care.
