Will Malfunctioning Pacemaker Cause Dizziness And Vomiting?
My mother is 81; she has had a pacemaker for 8 years. She recently got Shingles and later her eyes are watering like she is crying. Lately, she has been lightheaded, and she recently got sick to her stomach at 1:30 am and felt better the next day. I m wondering if her pacemaker may be malfunctioning - she has gone to see her doctor for regular checkup to her pacemaker. Would a malfunction pacemaker cause dizziness and vomiting? Thank you!

Hi,
Dizziness is one of the symptoms of malfunctioning pacemaker. It is also associated with heart palpitations, difficult breathing. Still it's worth consulting a cardiologist to find or exclude heart problem. Watering of eyes and vomiting with dizziness points to refractory error of eyes which may be the cause. Please consult an ophthalmologist and a heart specialist for differentiation and specific medicine.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
