Will Mold Cause Symptoms Of Swelling In Tonsils When Allergic To It?
I have an allergy to mold; I suspect there is mold in my classroom, where I teach. I had severe strep symptoms (non bacterial) 2 weeks ago. My tonsils seem to be swelling up again. I m wondering if mold will cause those symptoms in a person who is allergic?

Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. If you are allergic to molds, then there is possibility of irritation on exposure. Taking antihistamines like levocetirizine and mast cell stabilzers like monteleukast for long term will be helpful. You can also put water in mouth morning after getting up and before going to bed for 15 minutes. Taking vitamin C regularly will be helpful also. These measures will be helpful to clear up your problem. If it is not helping then a consultation with ENT specialist should be done. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
