Will Mucinex And Water Treat Productive Cough That Has Yellow Mucus?

last Wednesday woke up with slight sore throat. cough set in Thursday with congestion. today is the first day the cough has been productive - yellow mucus. been taking mucinex and water. stuffy sinuses as well. no fever. loose stools. question is; I ve spoken with a number of locals who share the same symptoms, some I ve been in contact with, others run in different circles.

The symptoms are likely due to the common cold which is a viral infection.

The mucinex would help to break up the mucus so that it can be expelled easier.
You should also continue the water as well, fluids are helpful.

A decongestant would help with the congestion symptoms. This would be available over the counter.
