Will Nerve Blocks Cure My Pain After Total Hip Replacement Surgery?

i had a total hip replacement with a DePuy Pennicle hip. The Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve was completely severed. The pain has become unbearable. Now they are recommending Nerve Blocks. I also have elevated chromium and cobalt. Not really high but elevated. Do you think Nerve Blocks will help my pain?

Hello,

As what I feel is that taking nerve block isn't bad and it will help block the pain sensation. Post this I will advise you to do total hip rehabilitation programming program post surgery. This will help the muscles to be stronger and provide maximum stability of the newly installed joint.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Jay Indravadan Patel, Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist
