Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I received a type 2 fracture of my radial head in 2009 from hyperextending my elbow playing football.
It wasnt serious enough to operate on but a peice had splintered off and it took 6 weeks in a sling and pt to recover.
Since then I've been mainly ok up until now where I am experiencing sharp pain and soreness, plus occasional burning when I extend my arm and rotate.
I've recently become electrician and I think perhaps screwing in screws while pushing has aggravated it. I also box but this has never caused a problem before.
Could this be permanent or have I likely just stressed something that will heal back?
Pain in your radial head area will heal only if you have steroid injection at the site or if you take rest for about 10 mins after every 1 hour of work other wise it will become permanent and you have to live with it.
- Apply hot packs for 30 min in morning and evening .
I hope it helps.
