Will Physical Therapy Reduces The Difficulty In Lifting The Leg?
Hi, I fell down a flight of steps that were wet about 6 years ago and finally found out I have spinal stenosis. When I exercise on the elliptical machine at the ymca I can do 25 minutes. I find it difficult lifting my legs especially my left one. Will physical therapy help me ? Thank you

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this difficulty lifting your leg. Yes, physical therapy would help you in doing this. They would evaluate what the problem is and see what solutions are possible to address this. They have several techniques and some include using alternate muscle group to help do what the primary muscles have failed to do. Give them a try and you would be happy you did.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
