Hi,
I've gone through your query and I understand quite well your concern.
Based on what you referred to me, I'm so sorry to tell you that according to some late studies a single prenatal dose of
methamphetamine, commonly known as speed, may be enough to cause long-term neurodevelopmental problems in babies!!
Currently identified negative impacts of the drug during
pregnancy include a decline in the amount of
oxygen and other nutrients delivered through the placenta and ongoing disruptions triggered by the presence of methamphetamine inside a developing child’s bloodstream, including reduced motor co-ordination. The developing fetus appears to be vulnerable to DNA damage from methamphetamine exposure because it hasn't yet developed the enzymes that protect it against free radicals.
Specific pregnancy complications associated with intake of the drug include slowed fetal growth, birth defects,
low birth weight, delayed or incomplete development of motor skills during childhood and delayed or incomplete development of mental/intellectual abilities during childhood.
So, please tell to your friend to contact her gynaecologist immediately to follow her baby developement
Hope this information is useful to you
