i am a 44 year old male i was in a car accident 16 years ago now i have a 5mm grade 1 spondylolisthesis L5-S1 witha grade 3 forminal stenosis there is an associated disc protrusion with impingement on the right nerve root. i have currently had a second injection in that area which hasn't giving any relief. i was wondering if i am wasting time with the injections? also i have been have palpatations, i have been told that spondylosis can cause heart palpatations. please some advice or answers.
Hi welcome to HCM. Spondylosis in your case is unlikely to cause any palpitations considering its level of L5/S1.Nerve impingement with foraminal stenosis can be offered cure through Microdiscectomy with/out Laminectomy.Palpitations can be further assessed through a baseline EKG and 24 HR HOLTER ecg. This can accurately quantify the degree and duration of the conduction disturbances associated with your palpitations.A screening 2 dimensional echo can help to rule out organic heart lesions.Drugs like Beta blockers can help to control the palpitations.Consult your cardiologist for further care. Thank you
