Hello my uric acid is 8 and i wan to know sunflower seeds is bad for me or it increase the level of uric acid or note Hello i am male 32 years old my uric acid is 8 and i want to know sunflower seed is bad for me or not or its increase the level of uric acid or not? thanks
A diet rich in Purine like red meats, organ meats, processed meat, eggs , alcohol etc needs to be avoided in case of elevated uric acid level. Sunflower seeds are a rich source of linoleic acid, Vitamin B , amino acids (tryptophan) and minerals like copper, manganese, potassium, calcium, zinc and cholesterol lowering phytosterols etc., in short beneficial to the body in many ways. Moderate consumption of sunflower seeds would definitely not increase the uric acid level, so be rest assured.
though sunflower seeds contain high uric acid it also contain folic acid which is helpful in gout.generally animal proteins like red meat increase the uric acid level.but plant products not so harmful like animal one. so not harmful if consumed from mild to moderate amount. so no need to worry.
