Will Taking Birth Control Cause Increase In The Heart Rate?
Hi,I am a 20 year old female who had one episode (for the first time) of supraventricular tachycardia. Afterwards, I've been normal. However, I have been considering birth control for a while. Will taking birth control increase the heart rate and be bad...possibly leading to another episode?

Will Taking Birth Control Cause Increase In The Heart Rate?
Hello, It is unrelated to contraceptive pills. Anxiety and stress can also cause an elevated heart rate. If symptoms persist better to consult a cardiologist and get evaluated. An ECG is required to rule out conditions like cardiac arrhythmia. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
