Will Taking Prednisone Medicine On Long Period Create Problem?
I went on prednisone as i had very bad flare up of excema. I have this problem for 30yrs plus but prednisone starting with 50mg 3 days then 30 mg 5 days then 20 mg 5 days to 10mg 5 days then 5 mg 5 days....now i am at 5 mg and i start feeling the itch coming back...i had no itch anywhere with 20mg stage....i would like to go back to 20mg but know drug is not good in long run...what do you advise

Taking prednisone or any steroid for long time has serious side effects such as cataract, infection, hip arthritis, weak bones, renal insufficiency. There are other medications such as antihistamines which are better in side effects. Follow your doctor's advice.
