Will The Next Pregnancy Also Be An IUGR Baby?

i was having an iugr baby that i knew at 8th month of pregnancy.every thing was going normal.then i have a c-section at 36 week,now the baby is growing normally and healthy.at the time of birth she was 4.5lbs and i gained 18kg weight.now i m worried for the next pregnancy that may be again an iugr so what would you say.

Hello,

Not every pregnancy needs to end up with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) because most of the causes of IUGR are non-recurrent. You should get regular follow up, maintain proper nutrition, take adequate rest, and exclude infections once you conceive. You can take some counseling if you are planning to conceive again on any needed precautionary measures. You can also take prenatal vitamins. Please see that you take a break of two years after the previous delivery as it was a cesarean section.
