Will The Requirement For Oxygen Subside After Successful Treatment For Pneumonia?
My husband is a renal transplant patient on immunosuppressants and is now being treated for pneumocystis pneumonia, he is SOB and on oxygen. WIll his requirement for oxygen subside after successful treatment? ALso in an immunosuppressed patient is there anything else that should be being done? Thank you, POC
Dear Friend. Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern. Once the pneumonia is treated completely without any complications , he may not require oxygen supplementation. However , a good guide would be his Arterial Blood gas analysis. If you could share with me his Xray and ABG , i would be able to help you further. This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you want to discuss your issues further, you may please ask me through Premium Query directed on my name. I will help you my best. Stay Healthy. Dr Anshul Varshney , MD
