Will Weight Los Helps Both Obesity And Vertigo Around The Mouth Having Planned For Bariatric Surgery?
I have darkness on my left cheek. I'm obese, African-American and diabetic. In the last year I've developed vitiligo around my mouth and my lips have lightened. I'm scheduled to have bariatric surgery in a couple of weeks. Will the weight loss help either or both conditions?

Vitiligo is due to melanocyte deficiency of the body cells. So this condition will not improve with weight loss management. The darkness over the cheek is due to exposure to sun light and it is called Solar keratosis. For this you may require sun screen lotions and hypopigmentation creams. Here also weight loss management is not much of an help.
