With Mesial Temporal Sclerosis Does Pain In One One Arm Indicate MS?
51 yr old female(120 lbs) with mesial temporal sclerosis diagnosed 3 yrs ago. history of only one (grand mal) initial seizure. taking 10mg of frisium daily. cc: weakness and unspecific pain down left arm for last 60 days. could this possibly indicate MS?
Mesial temporal sclerosis is not related to multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis after the age of 45 is very unlikely. Regarding the symptoms in your arm if unaccompanied by other symptoms in your lower limb and face it's less likely to be a brain issue. I would look first for cervical spine pathologies producing compression of nerve roots or compression of peripheral nerves. Of course a more precise localization of your symptoms along with a neurological physical examination would help to narrow the possible diagnoses and necessary exams.
