Hi,
There could be many factors for weight gain. The
hormonal changes of
menopause might make you more likely to gain weight around. Apart from that aging, as well as lifestyle and genetic factors can have a role in this. The medications mentioned by you are not known to increase weight. For now, I suggest you get your thyroid profile checked as
hypothyroidism is a major factor for weight gain even if you are eating right and exercising. You keep on following a healthy diet and step up your activity level.
For that, please follow below points:
• Eat plenty of protein. Protein keeps you full and satisfied, increases metabolic rate and reduces muscle loss during
weight loss.
• Eat foods high in soluble fiber. Consuming high-fiber foods like flaxseeds, Brussels sprouts, avocados and broccoli can increase
insulin sensitivity, reduce appetite and promote weight loss.
• Have green tea. The caffeine and EGCG in green tea may help burn fat, particularly when combined with resistance training.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
