Would A Light Stroke During Heart Surgery Cause Anosmia?
On April 27th, 2015 I had open heart surgery. Since that time the food I eat doesnt taste good to me. I had a light stroke during the surgery. Would the stroke cause me to notbe able to taste my food? I am taking blood thinners and blood pressure medication. The surgery has been almost 4 months now. I have lost 25 pounds. Will I ever be able to enjoy eating again?
The stroke during heart surgery may be the cause of anosmia, loosing smell. I think you should visit a neurologyst,do an MRI before saying that it can be returned or not. So you need further evaluation about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
