Would An Injection Of Diazepam Be An Appropriate Diagnosis For A Pinched Nerve?
my question is about the administration of the drug diazepam. The first part is would a injection of diazepam be an appropriate diagnosis for a pinched nerve( a disk in the back was pinching the nerve and the drug was administed as a skeletory muscle relaxer) in a 30-39 year old white male even through the fda has warned about the high suicide attempt rate that this group has associated with diazepam or would you have tried a different method/drug first. The second part is would you prescribe diazepam with codiene even through the fda has warned about the multiplier effect that diazepam has on opiates. Thank you for your time.
Diazepam would not be prescribed solely because of a pinched nerve. Ask the doctor the reasons for this. Your pain may be interfering with your sleep patter. Though the FDA has warned, they are cautioning but a doctor who takes this into account and thinks the benefits outweigh the risk is doing the right things.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
