Would Changing The Time At Which I Take Synthroid Help Me Get Better Sleep?
I'm a 70 yr old male, on a prescription of synthroid dose of 0.050 mg for over 20 years. recently my MD after tests, increased the synthroid dose to 0.075 mg. All well except i take the dose at 7:00 pm I have trouble getting to sleep at nights. i deliver papers early @ 2:00 am ...+ i take other supplements [ vitamins; low dose aspirin....] problem - after delivery of papers about 1 1/2 hours i have a snack + tea. Should change my taking meds to early am instead to help with the challenge of little sleep? with my thanks armas
Yes, it would be best to take it in the early morning as soon as wake up. This would ensure that your breakfast does not interfere with its absorption. Your meal should be at least an hour after.
If it is taken too close to meals, it may not be absorbed properly so its effect is reduced.
I hope this helps
