Would Switching From Loratab To A Compound That Does Not Have Tylenol Cause Flu Like Symptoms?

Hello, I have never done this before, so I hope I am clear. I am also quite ill, so I might be confusing. I have been taking loratab at high doses for probably eight to ten years, maybe longer, every day, I am guessing at least four a day or more 10/500. I recently got a new script from a compound st that does not have Tylenol. I switched and have been sicker than a dog. Could the sudden stop of the Tylenol cause me to have the flue like symptoms? Thank you so much! Dana

Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have been experiencing. Honestly they are not typical of Tylenol withdrawal as this has not been described before. However, a simple logical approach may be able to help us here. Get some over the counter Tylenol and take the same dosage as you used to take before for 2-4days. If the symptoms subside, then this could be the possible reason. However, if the symptoms persist, then you would need to be evaluated for the cause of this.

Long term use of Tylenol maybe detrimental to your kidneys. Please, ask your doctor if there are any reasons to be concerned about this.

I hope you find this helpful and provides enough information for you to make and informed decision on how to tackle this. Thank you so much for having used our services and we do hope to see you next time if need be. I wish you good health.
