Hello,
I read your query.
Normally , there are no or an occasional Red blood cell(0-2) in urine. However, in the report provided above, numerous
RBC s are present(0-7).There are many causes for presence of RBC s in urine:
1.
Glomerulonephritis is one of the common causes. Here you may get Red cell cast as well with
Albumin (1-2+) .
2. Only red cells (without casts) may be seen in
Kidney stones
3. Post catheterisation(can be ruled out from History)
4.Tumour in the urinary tract(USG of whole abdomen may help to locate the tumour if any)
5. Coagulation dirorder(any significant past history)
However False positive test for detection of blood in urine may also be seen in females during Menstruation(You havent mentioned your sex)
Nevertheless, the RBC levels are not alarmingly high and you have absolutely no reason to panic. Had i been your consulting physician i would have adviced you to get a repeat examination of urine done in case you are menstruating at present to rule out false positive result (once your menses are over)
If not, I would have adviced you to get a
Ultrasonography of whole abdomen done to see if there are any changes in the urinary tract.
Do get in touch with your physician(a
urologist preferably)
Do send me any additional reports if you get them done .
Important points like presence of
fever, Burning micturition, urinary frequency and difficulty in passing urine will help your clinician to arrive at a diagonosis.
