Wrist Injury, Very Deep, Increased Redness. Has External Stitches, Tissue Sticking Out. What Does That Indicate?
My daughter fell and cut her wrist on some glass. It was a very deep gaping wound down to the muscle. At the ER they gave her 5 external stitches None internal, not sure why when it was so deep. However the top of the wound coin into the bottom.of her hand is red. There is also a piece of tissue sticking out between the top two stitches. She was seen at the wound clinic and I was told it would heal with non issues. Well the wound is closingand the tissue ois till there and the redness has increased. What should I do and what does this mean?
Hi what u are explaining is called gaping of the wound.increase in redness indicates good granulation tissue which indicates good healing.tissue u are mentioning can be left alone.if it does not heal even after wound has subsided.wound should cut open and tissue should be kept inside and again sutures are done H
