Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

This symptoms are common after pregnancy.Since your bone and joint is soft during this period hence may be trivial injury might have happened after lifting your child which produced such symptoms as you mentioned. Dont worry you need to have analgesics for few days , along with calcium supplement.Use wrist splint.Neuralgic pain is secondary to median sensory nerve compression in tunnel formed by wrist bone.Better to avoid neuralgic drugs because of producing drowsinees to your child.Consult nearby doctor for the above medicines. No need of surgery as per your symptoms, consult your neurologist/physician for clinical examination
