X-ray Result Got. Seems To Have Suspicious Densities In Upper Lung Field. Explanation Needed
my brother got an chest x-ray result saying that *suspicious densities are preseent in the right upper lung field *the pulmonary vascular markings are normal *the heart is not enlarged *the diaphragm and CP sulci are intact * no other remarkable findings REMARK: apico-lordotic view is suggested for further evaluation of the suspicious densities in the right upper lung field ===Can i ask for further explanation of the result?what does it imply to say?
Hi, Welcome to HCM, your brother's x ray shows radio opacities at the right apex of the lung, this area may be not clearly visible due to bones like clavicle. Lordotic view is required to view this area clearly, the causes for apical densities are Tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, Fibrosis, suspicious malignancy like pancoast tumor. This can be confirmed by lordotic view or going for CT Scan of chest to clearly identify the area and nature of densities and can be further evaluated. Other findings in x ray are normal. Hope this information helps and please go for further evaluation so that you do not miss anything. Take care Good Luck. Dr.Akhilesh Dubey M.D
