Yellow Inner Scab With Reddish Area On Left Forearm, Irritating. What It Might Be?

I have a yellow inner scab with a reddish area surrounding it on my left forearm. It doesn t appear to be ring like, but it s often itchy and quite irritating. I ve had this for several days now and wondering what it might be and how I could possibly treat this.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

You seem to have pyoderma, skin infection. Yellow scab is usually a crust formed due to pus. Apply topical antibiotics like fusidic acid / mupirocin over the area.

Is the reddish area raised ? If yes, you may be having tinea with secondary infection due to itching. After the infection resolves post application of topical antibiotics, apply topical antifungal, or else take oral antifungals like fluconazole 150 mg twice a week.

Hope I helped
